Teachers Can Learn from Technology Too
Something I have definitely learned in this class is the potential that technology has in the classroom. I have always been thinking of how technology can help the students learn, but I never thought of it to fill my needs as an educator. Technology is an invaluable source of learning for teachers everywhere. So I went on a little research spree and I discovered www.webenglishteacher.com. In this website there are plenty of resources to help teachers. Everything from normal lesson to technology integration lessons that can be found here. While it is important for our students to be users of technology, we must also be apt at using the resources, and technological inventory readily available for us at our future schools. Take a look at the hyperlink at the some of the examples of the ways that teachers are integrating technology into their classrooms. Some of them are ways I would never have thought. Every teacher stands alone in his or her classroom, but we are connected by a network of resources that we can all use and share to reach our common goal of education.

Arturo,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with the fact that technology has great potential in the classroom. I like to think of myself as a very tech-savvy person because of the amount of exposure to technology I have been. I almost considered majoring in computer science at one point solely for my love of computers and technology. After being in this class I have realized that I can be a teacher and still be around the technology that I love.
Arturo,
ReplyDeleteI also agree that technology does have a very beneficial place in our future classrooms, especially as future English teachers. Likewise, I was unaware how much impact different forms of technologies can truly have, not only in students' learning, but in our curricula as well. Once we are fully capable of handling certain forms of technology, we can then successfully integrate within previously existing lessons so as to enhance their validity, or introduce our students to an entirely new, albeit beneficial and educational, lesson based around a form of technology. The article that you provided is filled with many suggestions, some of which have never occurred to me before. Thank you for sharing that! It will definitely prove to be useful in our future classrooms. And, yes, if we are all connected as educators through technology, we can each contribute, making each lesson that much more educational.
